Trip Essential / Packing List
While you don't absolutely need every piece of cycling kit, having some key items can make your rides much more enjoyable, especially on longer adventures.
Here's what to consider, based on the climate conditions:
-
Helmet: Join the Ride Safely: Helmet is Mandatory
-
Jerseys or Athletic Shirts: Choose moisture-wicking fabrics for comfort during rides.
-
Cycling Shorts: Padded options prevent saddle sores on longer journeys.Don't forget chamois cream for added comfort!
-
Cycling Shoes (Optional): Bring these if you're using your own pedals on your own bike for optimal power transfer.
-
Sneakers (Optional): A comfortable alternative if you're not using your own pedals because you've rent a bike
-
Athletic Socks: Breathable and moisture-wicking socks for comfort.
-
Water bottle cycling: Sip fluids regularly to stay hydrated throughout your tour. Recommeded a 500ml water bottle - approx.17oz
-
Cycling Sunglasses: Protect your eyes from sun and wind while offering clear vision.
-
Sunscreen labelled "water resistant" or "sweatproof": exposed to the sun for extended periods is a risk factor for sunburn, premature aging, and even skin cancer. Sunscreen helps shield your skin from harmful UV rays.
-
Arm/Leg Warmers/Neck Warmer : Provide temperature regulation for changing weather conditions. Lightweight, easy to stash
-
Lightweight Jacket or Vest: Pack a packable, waterproof, and wind-resistant layer for unexpected showers or chilly winds.
-
Bike Gloves: Bike gloves aren't essential, but highly recommended. The padding helps reduce fatigue in your hands, arms, and shoulders, protect your hands from blisters and provide a better grip on handlebars.
